He later received his Master of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, where he was selected as the outstanding professional. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from the Faith Seminary in Tacoma, Washington.
Dr. Rose began his professional career with Sears, Roebuck and Company in Rockford, Illinois. Later he was employed by the electric utility industry where he served in various capacities of customer service management across the states of Indiana and Ohio. He was the General Manager of Diversity Performance at Cinergy Corp. (now Duke Energy) and later was promoted to Vice President of Cincinnati Gas and Electric.
Dr. Rose was nominated by the CEO of Cinergy Corp. and became a recipient of the National Leadership Institute Award, presented in Kansas City, KS. Rev. Dr. Rose is the former pastor of the First Baptist Church of Liberty, Indiana and has served as interim pastor of the Greater St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, Gary, Indiana, as well as interim pastor at Second Baptist Church, Bloomington, Indiana. In June 2003, Dr. Rose became pastor-elect of Second Baptist Church and on September 28, 2003 he was installed as the pastor where he currently serves.
In 2016 the Holy Spirit convicted Pastor Rose to assume the leadership role for the Southeastern District Association’s renovation project. This repair and restoration project was for the only remaining African American landmark in Orange County, Indiana. This endangered historic site was called the First Baptist (Colored) Church of West Baden Springs.
Through much prayer and the continuous moving of God’s Holy Spirit, seven years later over $150,000 was donated to this project. In addition, a core group of members from Second Baptist Church Bloomington and various community volunteers utilized their skills and talents to renovate the structure. It is now known as the First Missionary Baptist Church of West Baden Indiana and is open for weekly service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Dr. Rose finds that some of his most treasured times are those spent with his siblings, friends, his daughter, Ashley, and his three precious granddaughters, Alaynna, Aaliyah, and Alaysha.
We are not here by accident, but by divine providence! For where there is a church with no prayer, There is no power; where there is a church with little prayer there is little power; But a church with much prayer has much power!
